Calling for citizens to help identify cuts in City budget

I just sent out an email to ask for citizens who want to help identify cuts in the City budget that are compatible with public safety and quality of life in Long Beach.

Mayor Bob Foster has proposed reducing the fire department by 27, police patrol by 14 and downgrading three library branches -- including Bach -- to "reading rooms." Fire Station 18 and 19 are also targets of cuts by moving units from 19 to Station 18 -- leaving the area "thin" for coverage.

Anyone interested in attending my August 29th Community Conversation on the Proposed FY 2012 Budget, should click on this link and start reading what is being proposed by the Mayor. I need your feedback and your ideas.
